“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
— Aaron Siskind
When I was a kid, I was given a Vivitar 110 point and shoot camera for Christmas.  I really enjoyed this new novelty toy and felt exhilarated each time I took the film down to the local drug store, waited patiently for development, and then experienced surprise, joy, and sometimes even disappointment of looking through my photos.  It brought me so much happiness to see my memories in print, and my initial passion for photography was sparked!
My name is Wendy, and I'm a photographer in Yorktown, Virginia.  I've been a military spouse for over 20 years and I'm a proud momma to three beautiful kiddos.  I grew up on a blueberry farm in Western New York and I graduated from Regent University in 2003 with a Master’s degree in Counseling.  I spent a few years as a school guidance counselor before taking some time off to support my family at home full-time.
I love to travel, have visited 29 countries, and even had the opportunity to live in England, Belgium, and Japan.  I adore my Himalayan and Maine Coon and I take way too many pictures of these crazy cats.  I can’t stop eating salt and vinegar potato chips, and I only begrudgingly go the gym when I think I've had a few too many.  My daughter and I "starred" in a Japanese commercial for about 1.5 seconds.  I've climbed to the top of Mt Fuji and will never forget the adrenaline rush from skydiving and paragliding.  I'm a hard worker, but I'm also easy-going and have a great sense of humor.
Between motherhood and my opportunities for travel, my passion for photography was re-ignited as a young adult.  I felt an urgency to archive the development of my children, chronicle our amazing travels, and document the everyday moments of my wonderful life in photos.  Through countless hours of practice, photography classes, awesome mentorships, and the support of friends and family, I transformed my hobby into a small photography business.
I specialize in family photography and portraiture, but also enjoy storytelling, travel, and street photography.  I create photo sessions that are fun and relaxed because I want everyone to enjoy their session as much as I enjoy the opportunity to document a special little moment in their life.  It is my desire to produce images that bring smiles and evoke everlasting joy.
